In 1938 John B. Ratterman decides to open a second
funeral home in Louisville's emerging east end community of St.
Matthews. He ask two sons, Carl and John Jr. to operate the new
facility and it opened in 1939.
This new business grew along with St. Matthews and Carl and John
added on and remodeled the original building several times over the
years. Now under the direction of Carl's sons and grandsons,
Ratterman Bros. has just completed its latest update to make the
